Concerned with the phenomenon and perception of light and color, this work is an exploration of colour as form, structure, and light.
“Fascinated by the composition of light... its full spectrum as a purely perceptual experience. Through my recent series I have created a feeling of connection, an immersion into light".
These works form an ongoing inquiry into the materiality of paint and the fundamentality of painting itself, colour and medium. The purity of medium, colour, form, and the experience of colour are the essence of my abstract approach.

‘Sailors Delight’ appears contained, fixed. Yet when the environment changes ‘Sailors Delight’ moves. It reflects time by illuminating, blinking, shimmering. The surface appears kinetic, demonstrates depth by offering a shifting and sensory experience. Mirroring an inquiry into materiality - “paints” unpredictable behaviour, and the substance of light.
This fluctuation is not driven simply by the play of light but also on the viewer’s perspective. Any reflections are transient despite the solidity of its form. It is this impermanence and fluidity that I am pursuing, through exploration of the perceptual phenomenon of light and the potentialities of colour as pure sensation.
