Paint, pigment and Expoxy Polymer
Cycles of Reflection is a series of paintings exploring the cycle of interconnectedness between mind and energy, and portraying the dichotomy between internal and external realms of existence.
This painting evolved from a colour field into an abstract expression, stemming from my subconscious.
The mirror medium is a metaphor for the mind, symbolising the threshold between consciousness. The circle represents the cycle of energy, the basis of our entire existence.
Spontaneous sweeps of paint float between glazes of pigment to represent a contrast between the internal and external worlds.
The process of creation has helped me to make meaning and hold my identity.
