These paintings began with a simple feeling I’ve always loved—the sense of leaving the world behind when you slip beneath the surface of the water.
For me, swimming is a place of freedom and quiet. The noise of everyday life fades, time seems to slow, and for a moment there is only light, colour, movement and the feeling of being completely present.
Many of these paintings feature my daughter and me swimming. They capture more than a moment in the water; they hold memories of connection, freedom, and the fleeting years of childhood. There is something special about sharing that feeling with someone you love and experiencing the world through a different perspective.
The water became a way for me to explore escapism—not as an escape from life, but as a chance to step away from its demands and reconnect with ourselves and each other.
Light refracts through the water, creating shifting patterns and unexpected colours. Figures appear and disappear, sometimes only partially visible, as though moving between two worlds. I love this sense of uncertainty and discovery.
These works invite you to imagine yourself beneath the surface—to pause, breathe, and enter a quieter world for a moment.

This archival print is produced on 300gsm, 100% Cotton Rag Fine Art Paper that is certified Archival for 100 years, printed with archival inks.
All prints come numbered, titled, and hand-signed and are included with a certificate of authentication. Please ask your framer to attach it to the back of the frame.
Prints come with a white border of approximately 100mm to help with framing.
