‘Soul Stone’ is from my Papatuānuku Series that captures the spirit of Aotearoa’s landscapes — the earth’s textures, the shifting waters, the grounding presence of the whenua. After immersing myself in nature, I carry back a sense of connection and belonging, which becomes the emotional foundation for each artwork. In the studio, I translate these impressions through tonal colour palettes and tactile surfaces. By combining pigment with epoxy polymer, I create fluid, glossy finishes that evoke bodies of water and flow over the organic rhythms of the land. Each piece becomes a quiet conversation with Papatuānuku, honouring her presence and energy.

The work reflects a deep sense of connection and belonging that comes from immersing in nature. Organic forms, tonal colour and tactile layers create a landscape that feels both familiar and elemental, while flowing epoxy surfaces introduce the movement and fluidity of water.
