I’m a contemporary New Zealand artist based in Waikato, and I’ve been a full-time artist since 2002. My practice spans painting, sculpture and light-based mixed media, exploring the relationship between colour, light, reflection and perception.

I’m inspired by the landscapes of Aotearoa New Zealand and the fleeting moments found within them—the way light shifts, colour changes, reflections appear and atmosphere transforms a place. Sometimes a work begins with something I see; other times, it comes from the feeling of being immersed in nature. I bring these experiences into the studio and intuitively translate them through colour, light and materials.

I love exploring new techniques, ways of thinking and ways of making. This curiosity keeps my practice evolving and leads me to experiment with mirrored glass, aluminium, epoxy, pigment and fabrics.

My reflective works respond to changing light, movement and viewpoint, while my paintings on fabric explore softer, more atmospheric expressions of colour and light. Across both, I’m interested in creating work that invites you to pause, look again and experience something differently.

National Recognition & Collections

My work has received national recognition, including finalist selections in the NZ Painting & Printmaking Award, Parkin Drawing Prize and Academy Prize for Visual Art. In 2024, I received the Eden Park Best in Colour Award. My work is held in public and private collections in New Zealand and internationally, including The Arts House Trust collection.
